Bouvet Ladubay

Just 25 minutes from the camping Parc de Montsabert. 

In the Loire Valley, in the heart of the Saumur region, Bouvet-Ladubay, which produces Saumur dry white wine, invites you to see its 8km of cellars carved out of the tuffeau stone. In 1851 Étienne Bouvet created Bouvet-Ladubay, bringing his wife's name to the brand. He constructed his buildings backing onto the slope in which huge hollows had been dug by man to extract the stone.

Louis de Grenelle

Just 30 minutes from the camping Parc de Montsabert.

In the heart of the Loire Valley, La Maison Louis de Grenelle produces lightly sparkling wines, including Saumur Rosé, Saumur Brut and Crémant de Loire. Beneath the town of Saumur lies a hidden former tuffeau stone quarry, where more than 3 million bottles of wine are maturing. Combier distillery

Just 30 minutes from the camping Parc de Montsabert.

Come and visit the Combier distillery, the oldest operational distillery in the Loire Valley. It's here, in copper-bound silence (we cannot say more!) that the maceration of the fruit and the distillation of the peel mixed with alcohol have been taking place for more than 150 years.

Tastings are available for discovering the authentic taste of the liqueurs, crèmes, cordials and spirits made with the plants used to make absinthe. Discover the secrets of the copper stills, where, for more than 175 years, the fabulous alchemy of fruit turning to liqueur takes place, just half an hour from the camping Parc de Montsabert. La Cave aux Moines

Just 20 minutes from the camping Parc de Montsabert.

On the banks of the Loire, in 6km of galleries dug out of the tuffeau stone by man, come and find out about life underground and things that are  grown underground. Since the early 20th century, La Cave aux Moines has been used to grow mushrooms. During your tour, this cellar will take you on a journey back in time, to find out, all the way through its galleries, about: 

  • Life in a troglodyte dwelling
  • The story of tuffeau stone
  • Snails in cellars
  • Mushroom growing
  • The wine tasting cellar

In a novel setting, La Cave aux Moines can accommodate up to 220 people in its "Les Pieds Bleus" restaurant.
